So the big thing in upskilling is that many orgs cannot assess the skills of their staff in any meaningful way. They struggle with to define those skills at a granular enough level. And then they lack robust assessment mechanisms if the skill is hard to tie back to objective measurements 100% (which most skills are). So I’d like to see your model zeroing in further on these areas.
I agree. And it's a great suggestion. Identifying behaviours & how they would play out in the business has to be the first step. And I think that requires a blend of instinct, business performance industry research & customer data, all trying to balance what's missing now vs what's needed. Then you'd need to break the behaviours into tangible skills. Once you have those skills, need to prioritise based on perceived risk vs benefit. How to assess those skills in the business is no simple task. I would aim for a blend of self-assessed, performance data, manager assessment & even peer review, combined with industry benchmarking if possible. Then you're in the realms of a complex puzzle that needs a data scientist, or at the very least technician, to present meaningful dashboards so you can infer stories/themes.
